FLINT – Ask Dennis Reinhart about the newest Detroit Lions assistant coach and the first thing you’ll hear about isn’t his talents on the field.
It’s his character and work ethic.
Reinhart coached Aubrey Pleasant, the Lions new secondary coach and passing game coordinator, in 2004 at Montrose High School and the 25-year coaching veteran can’t say enough good things about his former player.
You want character?
Consider this, while at Montrose, Pleasant often babysat for Reinhart’s three children when Eli was 11, Caleb was 9 and Ian – aka Bubba – was 6.
“I had no reservations about him,” Reinhart said. “He was just a super, super person. You could tell the qualities he had. He was so intelligent, so well spoken, so trustworthy. He had his act together.”
