Yankees: Hal Steinbrenner Says Fans Might Be Able to Attend Games in 2020


New York Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner said fans could attend games in the Bronx this year.

What are we hearing? This is all too good to be true.

First, we got to see Gerrit Cole pitching to Aaron Judge at Yankee Stadium on Thursday. Now there’s a chance Yankees fans can attend games in 2020?! Yes, exciting, but let’s pumped the brakes for a moment.

We have no idea what the protocol will be, this is merely forecasting. Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner told YES on Thursday that he expects to have the stadium filled at 20-30% capacity “at some point” IF fans are allowed.

COVID-19 has been unpredictable since Day 1 and now we’re seeing a spike in cases across the country, so nobody is really sure what the guidelines will be in a month or even five months from now. Both the NFL and NCAA are struggling with the same dilemma and those seasons don’t start for another two months.
