Kirby Smart is going into his fifth season as Georgia’s head coach and if you’ve heard the 44-year-old head coach talk about competitiveness once, you’ve heard it thousands of times. That is and always will be a buzz word in football at any level and in sports in general.
It’s preached so that it will apply to every aspect of preparation — the weight room and practice field, but Smart showed recently that it can apply to his family life too. That’s because he took the time on a recent vacation to race his youngest son, Andrew, on the beach. Smart is a former All-American safety at UGA but that was over 20 years ago. Andrew is seven to eight years old at this point but his dad didn’t let him win.
