One of the most prominent Pittsburgh-area natives in the national media landscape has had it with Pirates ownership.
Former Indianapolis Colts kicker Pat McAfee — a West Virginia and Plum High School product — ripped Bob Nutting in an expletive-laden rant on his radio show Wednesday, calling for the team’s owner to sell in the wake of Ke’Bryan Hayes’ baserunning gaffe following a home run Tuesday against Los Angeles.
“(Hayes) is cursed, not his fault,” McAfee said of the third baseman’s failure to touch first base during his trot, which caused him to be called out upon review. “Hit a home run, doesn’t even count. Not his fault from what I’ve been told. It’s just the Pirates’ problem, you’re cursed.”
