Kentucky having 6 players drafted helps SEC break NFL Draft record


Now that the 2021 NFL Draft has come to a close, the Kentucky Wildcats and Mark Stoops can say that they had a very successful draft. The Wildcats had six players drafted, which is tied for the second most in program history and is the most of the Mark Stoops era, beating out the 2019 draft class, which sent five players to the league.

Kentucky finished tied for 8th place in the nation among schools who sent players to the draft, and also finished 5th overall in the SEC.

Only Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida, and LSU had more players taken. Kentucky was tied with Penn State and Pittsburgh.

Kentucky also had more players drafted than Clemson, Oregon, Oklahoma, Stanford, Texas, Miami, Florida State, Texas A&M, Auburn, among many others.
