Byron Young’s recruitment saw a quick uptick last fall while he was a Georgia Military College. Young quickly became one of the most sought-after junior college prospects in the country. He rolled in over 15 offers, and he ended up signing at Tennessee in a bit of a surprise announcement during the early signing period.
“It just felt like the right time,” Young told VR2 on SI at the time. “I felt really great about the program, and I am most excited about moving on to the next level and competing.”
Young quickly caught the Tennessee staff’s attention and his peers as off-season workouts started with his physical stature alone.
Now, he is through six practices with the Vols, and he is continuing to impress, according to Tyler Baron.
