Friday Night Highlights: How OSU recruits performed in week eight

Garret Rangel, Quarterback

Much like the Euless Trinity versus L.D. Bell rivalry we discussed in regards to Ollie Gordon a few weeks ago, Frisco (TX) Lone Star has a similar stranglehold on rival Frisco Wakeland. Last week was no exception.

Our own Ryan Harris covered the game for Inside High School Sports and bore witness to another consistent performance from Garret Rangel. He was the only Ranger to attempt a pass, throwing for 135 yards and a score on an efficient 12-of-17. Lone Star got it done mostly on the ground with Boise State commit Ashton Jeanty running 23 times for 171 yards and four scores as Lone Star raced past Wakeland 33-3.

It wasn’t an overly dominant performance, but was methodical. Lone Star will need more of the same if it wants to go deep in the playoffs, which is very possible. The Rangers are currently ranked No. 7 in the state, one spot behind Colleyville Heritage… more on that in a bit. Next up is Frisco Centennial at home.
