MIAMI — The Miami Hurricanes are a college team trending for four-star Miami Central linebacker Wesley Bissainthe, and UM could use a high-end linebacker prospect or two in the 2022 recruiting class with a major need at the position.
With the NCAA in a recruiting dead period that will last through at least May 31, though, it hasn’t allowed prospects to have in-person contact with college coaches or visit campuses, limiting them to electronic communication. The Hurricanes only have two commitments in the 2022 class, far behind their usual pace at this point in a recruiting cycle.
Bissainthe (6 foot 1, 200 pounds) would like to start taking visits to colleges in the summer before narrowing his choices down. Assuming the dead period is lifted at the end of May, he plans on visiting West Virginia June 4-6 and also getting out to Florida State, Michigan State and Miami, which would be easiest for him to schedule, distance-wise.
