ALCS another reunion for Astros, Red Sox manager Alex Cora


On an impromptu off day, Carlos Correa was cooped up in a Chicago hotel. He spent time with his wife, Daniella, and other family members who traveled north. He ordered a deep dish pizza, part of a tradition each time Correa visits Chicago. He chowed down, turned his attention toward the television, and watched Alex Cora work.

Correa remains close friends with Cora, a fellow Puerto Rican and Houston’s former bench coach. The two men won a World Series together in 2017. Cora stopped Correa from winning another in 2018. Their paths haven’t crossed in a postseason since. A walk-off sacrifice fly from Kiké Hernandez on Monday night made it possible.

Correa reached for his cellphone when Boston’s winning run crossed. He typed a congratulatory text message to Cora, complete with one caveat.
